Effect: The magician introduces a deck of cards and show them to be in a mixed order. He tells the tale of a great gambler who was able to do extraordinary things with cards...and people. "Just by reaching into the center of the deck, he was able to cut to an Ace." The first Ace is shown. "Rumor has it, that The Gambler could control the thoughts of people who dared to play cards with him." The magician riffles the cards and has the spectator say stop. They remove the card. It is the second Ace. "The Gambler was so in tune with his cards, that he was able to look at deck and know that an Ace occupied the 28th position from the top." The magician cuts the cards at this point. "In fact, he was so good with the pasteboards he would cause that Ace to travel through the other cards right to the top of the deck! The magician riffles through all the cards in the top half. The magician's hand comes away with the third Ace. Not only could The Gambler control the thoughts of a person, he could control their actions. Have the spectator cut to the center of the deck, which is lying flat in your opened hand, and they have cut to the forth and final Ace!

Performance Time: One to four minutes depending on the routine

Reset Time: Less than 1 minute

Angles:

Quality: There IS a gimmick. It is similar to a breather. The gimmick is visually almost imperceptible. Well made. You get an entire deck of Bicycle cards, with the one gimmicked card.

Dr. Mitch: A well made gimmick, which can be used in in the deck provided or slipped into a borrowed one. With the gimmick in place you can give the impression of being an extremely skilled card manipulator. The gimmick allows you to cut immediately to the card below it. With a minute (really, almost NO) amount of practice you can accomplish miracles using this gimmick. The best part of it is, that you can actually allow the spectator to cut to the chosen card.

I've used a Breather crimp and a quarter crimp before, and it is "knacky". Sometimes it can be crimped too much, sometimes too little. It's difficult to introduce into a borrowed deck. With this gimmick, the problem is eliminated, it is the perfect breather.

A word about the gimmick itself, they are hand made by Howard and wife, Rose. You can be looking right at the gimmicked card and it is almost completely invisible. You really have to run your finger along the face of the card to prove to yourself that it is there.

I highly recommend this for the novice or intermediate card handler. And here is a my advice, be creative. This is MORE than just a one trick deck. You can use the gimmick to do 100's of things, just experiment and send us your ideas!!!!
