The Rumba Count

The left hand is palm up and open. Hold the cards face up and resting across your outstretched fingers of your left hand. The right hand is palm down and approaches the cards on the left. The right thumb goes beneath the packet of cards and the right fingers pinch the cards from above.

The right hand (still pinching the packet) now rotates palm up (this rotates the packet end for end the long way). This rotation should be done right above the left fingers so that when the rotation is complete the backs of the right fingers are resting on the front of the left fingers.

The right hand now pushes its packet into the area at the base of the left fingers. The left middle and ring finger curl around and touch the back of the right hand packet.

Now 3 things happen at once...

1. The right hand pulls to the right (pulling the card directly below the thumb with it keeping this card face down)

2. The right index finger contacts the back of the remaining packet and starts to push it to the left, pivoting it along the base of the fingers.

3. The left middle and ring finger continue the push of the packet and the left palm rotates up to meet the packet and returns flat again, this causes the packet to flip face up onto the left palm.

Now place the card in the right hand (keeping it face down, on the table). Repeat the same moves for the next card.

This way you have shown all 3 faces to be the same while in reality only showing one face.
