Peanut Butter and Jelly
I love the Peanut Butter and Jelly trick but I too do not like using the mushy white bread for the ending.Instead of making a PB&J sandwich as the tricks finale I prefer to produce two jars of Goober Grape! My routine has me getting confused about what is under which tube. The peanut butter or the jelly. I show each under the lids, physically move them across the table and after I uncover them they haven't changed places. I try it a few times with the same results. As a last ditch effort I try it by not moving them and that is when they change to Goober Grape. For each tube I load them with a standard cup & ball load, sort of. Instead of palming a jar of Goober Grape I just slide the tube to the edge of the table and drop the jelly jar into my other hand and load the Goober Grape under the tube. It happens as one motion so it goes unnoticed. After both are loaded i try it one last time and because the jars of peanut butter & jelly have been getting switched around so much they change into Goober Grape. - Joe Vecciarelli
[Joe said that he shared his idea with Timothy Wenk. Tim thought it interesting but that it gives away the workings. I'm not so sure, in many ways this is a more bewildering ending. And, it certainly is easier than preparing a sandwich before each show and having to deal with crumbled-up bread. Anyway, it's great to see people cleverly change a routine to suit them and get away from the provided routine. Bravo Joe. - MM]
