Dr. Mitch: When I got this set of four videos featuring the magic of Alex Elmsley, I was all set for some knuckle busting finger flinging. What I got was pleasantly surprised. These tapes have something for everyone on them. From self working to advanced card work.

Alex Elmsley himself is a quaint old english gentleman with an voice slightly remeniscient of Boris Karloff. He walks you through performance and patter with a style that makes you feel comfortable and at ease even though there is some serious magic happening beneath the scenes. I was thoroughly impressed, I walked away with "instant effects" (always a good thing) and some I am still practicing.

Some of the mathematics or memorizations are a bit odd, but manageable. A real pleasure are the interviews between effects which share some insight on the life of this Legend of Magic. Surprising were the non-card tricks including a nice torn and restored newspaper and a great cups and balls routine. Of course the tapes are mostly cards and who better to hear them from than Elmsely himself. In my opinion these tapes are a "must have".

Oh...and by the way...the man does the BEST Elmsley count I have ever seen. ; )
