717-898-8682Effect: These are hollow artificial eggs that look like real eggs. For use in a Silk to Egg or Egg Bag routine.
Quality: Absolutely wonderful looking artificial eggs. They are light weight, more durable than real eggs and have no cholesterol.
Mike Maione: If you do silk to egg or perform the egg bag, RUN don't walk to the phone and order Eggs-Actly right now. These beautifully crafted fake eggs look exactly like the real thing ... even a chicken would be fooled by these babies. They come in several sizes (just like real eggs) small, medium, large and jumbo in two basic varieties ... with the hole in the back for silk to eggs or without the hole for use in an egg bag routine.
If you've ever worked with the solid, heavy wooden egg that comes with most egg bags, then you know how that solid mass falls to the bottom of your egg bag and distorts the shape of the bag telegraphing to everyone that the egg is still in the bag. To get around this, I've taken to using a blown (empty) egg. It doesn't distort the egg bag when I drop it to the bottom, but it is a little delicate and I never like those holes at the top and bottom or the process of blowing the darn things. It inevitably takes several tries before I make one I'm satisfied with, then rinse it out and let it dry. Well, Eggs-Actly eggs are hollow, light and a lot more durable. (They do break though, so don't think you can drop them on a hard floor or treat them as carelessly as you do those wooden things.) They are absolutely perfect for the egg bag. I like the small size. It fits the Malini bag I use, which has a rather small opening to the secret compartment.
I also love to perform Silk to Egg, and if you've read my review of the Vernet Silk to Egg, then you know I'm a real fan of the Vernet Egg. Well, I think the Eggs-Actly eggs is even better, primarily because it comes in a large size which matches the eggs that are in my refrigerator. The Vernet egg is one size only ... small. Great if you have small hands but if you use a real egg in your routine, then you'll want one that is about the same size as your prop. Have you ever tried to find a small egg in the supermarket today? Medium is as small as they go in the store by my house.
Anyway, these are great props ... buy 'em.
Dr. Mitch: Alright, I'll confess, I was thinking what you all were thinking....what's so special about eggs? Sure, I bought my egg bag, years ago, and sure I deluded myself into believing that the yellowing ovoid piece of wood that came with it kinda looked like an egg; sort of................in a dark room................if you squint.
Anyway, along comes these eggs. WOW !!! They actually LOOK like eggs. Durable, for comfortable palming and light weight. There is none of that tell tale weight hanging down the corner of the egg bag. Because they actually LOOK like eggs, you can switch out for a real egg at any time. Ever try and switch out a real egg for that "wooden" one? Even Stevie Wonder could see the change.
Also...PLEASE, don't think you can use the wooden egg if you throw in the "Wooden Chicken" joke. That joke should be whittled from the archives or burnt in oblivion.
If you do Egg Bag or Silk to Egg, or any other thing where you need a nice looking phoney egg, get these.
