DeKram Deck (1)

...And "DeKram" spelled backwards is? I'm sure you've figured this out by now, but since you didn't mention it in your review, I was kind of wondering. I saw the deck being demo'd at the Magic Masters in Las Vegas (your description of Magic Masters is perfect, BTW!), looked up at their "menu" board, saw the name, went "hmmm", and figured it out.

From what I've heard, the DeKram deck is pretty much a rip-off of Ted Lesley's Working Performers Marked Decks, which were generally made by hand on Bikes - the little letters & numbers being applied by hand. Later, the rub-on transfers were available separately for those folks with more time and less money. I believe Magic Masters did finally work things out with Mr. Lesley.

Thanks for your great product review site, and best of luck to you in the future. Regards, Doug Stewart

(Actually, I didn't figure it out someone had to tell me. And I too heard about the Ted Lesley marking system and understand something was worked out with him. Thanks for the comments--mm)

DeKram Deck (2)

I read you review of the Dekram deck with considerable interest as I had recently purchased one from an excellent card supplier in England (unfortunately not yet on the Internet). I note that you "don't believe that that design is popular in Europe." Actually it is, being an exact match for Fournier Cards produced by one of Europe's top manufacturers. Strangely enough, in the UK Fournier decks are more available in non-magic outlets than Bicycle, Tally-ho or Hoyle etc..

Just for the record the Dekram cost me exactly the same installing as an original Ted Lesley Bicycle (sky high but real value!). Hope the above info is of interest. By the way the card supplier is:

THE CARD COLLECTION, BOND AGENCY
40 DUNES ROAD, GREATSTONE, NEWROMNEY
KENT, UK
TN28 8SN
Tel: 01797 363543

It is run by a very nice guy called Clive Leewarden and he carries a really outstanding range of US and European decks. (By the way he's not a relation just a supplier I've dealt with for years!!!!!!)

Regards, (and keep up the good and vital work)Wallace Blair - Northern Ireland UK
